Get moving on the Water

There are few better places to get your watersport kicks in Dublin City than along the canals. Not only a hub of cultural hotspots and renowned restaurants , Grand Canal Dock is also the place to zip up that wetsuit and really let loose.

Surf's up

Operating out of Grand Canal Dockyard in Ringsend, the watersports wunderkinds at Surfdock will see you suited and booted for just about any aqua activity that takes your fancy. Dive into some of their stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), windsurfing, kayaking and even SUP yoga sessions and you'll be quite the duck to water.

Fantastic fun for all ages and ability levels, with group sessions available too, you can get a gang together and make a real splash. And if you're already a pro when it comes to H2O? Surfdock will even rent you the equipment, so you can paddle off and do your own thing. Changing rooms, showers, lockers for valuables and a picnic area are all handily available on site too.

The ideal way to embrace charming Grand Canal Dock from a whole new vantage point, leaving dry land has never been such fun.

Dublin Vikings Dragon Boat Racing

The Dublin Vikings are a competitive dragon boat racing club based on Grand Canal Dock, competing at national and international events.  They train in the Dock every Saturday, and at least one other day every week except in mid-Winter.

Dragon boat racing builds strength, fitness, endurance, and agility. With up to 20 paddlers in a boat, it's a team sport, but one where every individual's contribution is critical. It provides the opportunity to develop strong bonds with teammates, and real camaraderie.

The Dublin Vikings are a mixed club and welcome potential members over 18 years old with basic levels of fitness.
